Shielding fleece

The shielding fleece can be used to shield against low-frequency electrical and high-frequency electromagnetic fields, which can e.g. emanate from:

• Transmitters of all kinds
• Cellular
• Radar
• High voltage power lines
• electrified railway lines
• the electrical installation in buildings
• electrical and electronic devices in adjacent rooms

The shielding fleece is a product with the properties of a fleece wallpaper. In contrast to the previous mostly used paper wallpaper used is a fleece that is dimensionally stable, i.e. it does not have to swell and therefore does not require any steeping time. This property allows the adhesive to be applied to the wall and the dry fleece in insert the adhesive. As usual, you can of course also paste the fleece (also with a pasting machine) and apply it like normal wallpaper. If you have worked in accordance with the following instructions, the fleece can later be removed dry.

Allergies

Although natural fiber and cork wallpapers are generally considered harmless, they also emit pollutants. These can cause allergic reactions or simply smell uncomfortable. Some natural fiber wallpapers also contain agents to protect against insect or fungal infestation, which are harmful to health. Due to their rough surface, natural fiber wallpapers can also act as dust collectors, which has a negative effect on house dust mite allergies.

The environmental seal - Der blaue Engel

The wallpaper manufacturers have joined together to form a community of goods in order to meet the high demands of consumers in terms of quality and environmental friendliness. The environmental seal "Der blaue Engel" is only awarded to products that are harmless and are not manufactured using CFCs, volatile plasticizers, toxic printing inks, lead and cadmium stabilizers, chlorinated solvents or solvents containing aromatics. Furthermore, strict limit values ​​for volatile organic compounds and heavy metals must not be exceeded.

The "Der blaue Engel" is awarded after the requirements for the "Der blaue Engel" environmental label specified in the award criteria RAL-UZ 35 have been checked. If these requirements are met, the Blue Angel eco-label can be awarded after a positive test by RAL GmbH.

The requirements relate, among other things, to the composition of the product, in particular the types of waste paper used, regulations on formaldehyde, glyoxal, the colorants used, surface finishing and coating materials, the use of which may only take place under certain conditions listed in detail in the award criteria RAL-UZ 35.
Chlorine-halogenated bleaching chemicals and complexing agents that are difficult to decompose biologically must be avoided when the waste paper is processed. The basis for the award also contains a regulation that certain heavy metal concentrations may only be contained to a small extent (limit values ​​are specified for this).

RAL

The wallpaper quality association as a member of the RAL e. V. has developed quality and test specifications for wall coverings. On the one hand, these contain quality requirements for minimum water resistance, washability, color fastness to light, impact resistance, adhesion of the yarns, fire behavior, heat transfer resistance and sound absorption. In addition, there are also requirements with regard to the health and ecological safety of these products. This includes, among other things, not using pigments containing heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and stabilizers containing organotin, but also limiting the content of volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde. Another essential feature of quality assurance is the constant checking of compliance with these requirements by the quality mark user, but also regular external controls by third parties (internal and external monitoring).
